Eben Oroz first encountered meditation in graduate school where he was studying to be a clinical psychologist. A mock group therapy class that explored the idea of “presence” introduced him to meditation, which he’s practiced for four years under such instructors as Thich Nhat Hanh and Jon Kabat-Zinn. Eben focused his graduate studies on mindfulness and its relation to addictive natures, specifically in connection with eating disorders. He also added depth to his practice by studying Hindu and Buddhist philosophies. From there he discovered yoga, a moving meditation, which introduced him to the etheric and cosmic expressions of the mind and what he would eventually learn to recognize as the spirit.
