May Yeung attended her first vinyasa flow yoga class in 2000 with her husband Adam with the intention of supporting him through his chronic back pain. As an unexpected surprise, this jewelry designer/tech entrepreneur fell in love with yoga and has been a devotee ever since. In 2013 after practicing for 13+ years, May was inspired to enroll in a 200 hour teacher training to broaden her knowledge of the philosophy and history of yoga, human anatomy, and to advance her physical asana practice. With no initial desire to teach, but rather to learn, she realized during teacher training that her yoga practice often times over the years had helped her with staying grounded and calm during stressful times as a business owner. Restorative yoga especially had provided her time to reflect and help with inward healing to cope with personal and family health issues. With a desire to impart to others what she had learned, May became certified to teach restorative yoga with a focus to help busy professional women like herself achieve a sense of calm while giving them the permission to “let go." May’s favorite 5 “R’s” to teach her students: Restore, Relax, Rejuvenate, Reconnect, Renew. In her mission to continue to support others learn to “pause,” May recently completed her Yin yoga certification.
